About the skills and abilities of Matthew Parks:

I have a lot of experience in athletic development and also have the education to back it up as well.  I am always learning more and more everyday and always look forward to new discoveries.  I love helping people with the sport of triathlon and other endurance related events.  I am very proficient in assisting athletes improve their form with swimming, biking, and running.  My skill set can also help people with other sport, health, and fitness programs as well.

My formal education trained me to become the professional I am today.  The  additional certifications I have obtained over the years are the proof I can assist people with their athletic endeavors.  I am grateful for the daily opportunity to assist people in improving themselves.

About the name of Moving Forward:

When I was racing my first full XTERRA season in 2007, I started to say “keep moving forward” to myself to keep me going during the demanding part of the races.  It was, and still is, a simple affirmation to help almost any situation.  It helped me greatly, and I decided to rename my business after it.  I have been assisting  people with their health, fitness, and sport programs for about 15 years in the Gallatin Valley.  My focus is on athletic development so people can improve their performance.  Keeping clients and athletes progressing is important to me, whether you are a beginner or a seasoned veteran.

Athletic career:

After a adolescent career spent with team sports (football, basketball, track & field), I decided to pursue the sport of triathlon and endurance events.  I have a firm belief that anybody can accomplish anything they want.  I competed in my first triathlon in 1994, and have probably completed in well over 100 endurance events during the past 20 years.  I have a special place in my heart for the sport of triathlon.  Most recently, I have participated in the America Tour of XTERRA.  I have qualified for XTERRA Nationals in each of the full seasons I have raced.
